8 Random Facts About Adam Snider

I’m usually not a huge fan of memes, but, occasionally, I’ll find one that I like. Today, as I was making my regular rounds through the numerous marketing blogs that I read, I saw that Patrick Schaber had posted 8 Random Facts About The Lonely Marketer. Instead of tagging specific individuals, Patrick left it open to anyone who wanted to participate, and so I thought that I’d take a stab at it.
Without further ado, here are 8 random facts about Adam Snider:
- I came dangerously close to getting married once. While I was originally quite upset when she called it off, I’m now quite glad. I think we rushed into the whole thing way too fast, and I’m fairly certain, in retrospect, that we’d have been divorced in 2 years or less.
- I used to dream about being a pro skateboarder, but I could only ever do two tricks—the ollie, and the Casper—neither of which were very impressive.
- If I was only allowed to read a single page of the newspaper, it would be the comics page. My second choice would be the front page, but I need those comics to get me going in the morning.
- Despite being Canadian, I am not a particularly huge hockey fan. I love my Oilers, but I prefer to watch football. Go Esks!
- I have written poems while a crazy person shouted at me and threatened me with a bull whip. Worse, I did it by choice.
- If I could choose any career other than what I do now (writer, marketer, poet), and money and time were no object, I’d probably be a photographer. One of these days, I’ll buy a nice Digital SLR and take some photography glasses through Metro College.
- Blogging has forever changed the way that I write, and the way that I communicate with the world.
- I hate using the telephone. I’m fine with email, IM, text messaging, and in-person conversation. But, for some reason, I hate talking on the telephone, and do it as rarely as possible. If you manage to get me to talk on the phone for longer than 10 minutes, you’re either a very good friend, or I’m trying to *ahem* “get close to you.”
I’d tag some people, but I know that most of them won’t participate anyway, so I’ll just leave this open to anyone who’d like to join in.

Hey Adam - thanks for participating! I’m with you on the talking on the phone topic. 10 minutes would seem like an eternity.
Definitely, Pat. I don’t know what it is about it. It’s not that I don’t enjoy talking to people, I just hate doing it on the phone.
I got tagged this on deviantart, but didn’t follow it up since I don’t use my journal there. I might post this over on akamike, though.
Photography is great, though I couldn’t see myself doing it for a living!
