A Case of the Mondays

I sincerely hope that yesterday was not a harbinger of things to come. I woke up late, because I forgot to set my alarm the night before. As a result I showered while still half asleep, and then drove to work without eating breakfast. I was hungry and ate my lunch early, which meant that I was hungry again in the middle of the afternoon.
I was also unable to focus at work for a large portion of the day, though I did hit my stride and get a fair amount done in the last few hours of the day.
I suppose there was some good in all of it, though. I went to Zellers after work to pick up a gift for someone, and ended up walking past the electronic department in the process. I noticed a good deal (V for Vendetta for under $7), and picked up a copy. I also ended up buying all three original Star Wars movies, as well as the Indiana Jones trilogy.
This might seem like excessive spending, but I accidentally paid my HBC credit card twice the last time that I paid it off, so I have a relatively large credit on the account (which is almost entirely gone, now that I’ve purchased all of those movies).

Is there any other way to start the day?
I thought showers were exactly for the transition of asleep and awake, and I can’t remember the last time I had breakfast…hmm…I think I had brunch in 2002.
Well, yeah, a shower wakes me up. But, this was different somehow. Like, I was still asleep even after I got out of the shower, I guess.
As for breakfast, I know a lot of people skip it, but I’ve never been able to. If I don’t start the day with food, I’m miserable for the rest of the day (or, at least until I eat something).
my morning is timed to razor precision such that I roll from bed and roll into work in the least possible amount of time: I practically sleep walk to work and skip breakfast always.
I don’t think I’m all that awake until my first coffee break anyways, so its more like breakfast than just coffee.
My mornings are pretty much down to a science as well. As a result, when I wake up 45 minutes later than usual, I get thrown off.
Luckily, I can pretty much show up for work whenever I want as long as I put in 40 hours a week.
jeeze, if I woke up 45 minutes later than usual, I would already be late for work.
But yeah, my job is pretty lax as long as I get the work done and all that.
Well, like I said, I can basically show up whenever I want. There is no set schedule (except for the receptionist and the service people, how have to work 8-4) as long as I do 40 hours a week. Obviously, it’s preferred if you come in for 8-4 or 9-5, and most people do, but it’s not required.
