Alberta Anthology Book Launch

Thursday, 2 November 2006, at 7:00pm, the 2006 Alberta Anthology will be released into the wilds of Edmonton, having been launched in Calgary the previous evening. The launch will be happening at Laurie Greenwoods Volume II (12433-102 Avenue). I will be in attendance, if only so I can be among the first to see my poems in print, for the first time ever.

I’ve been published before, but only in journalistic settings. This is the first time I’ve ever had “creative” works published. I’m pretty damn excited so, I’ll warn you ahead of time, my ego may be slightly inflated for the evening. More likely, though, I’ll be humbled by the other authors whose work appears in the book, and who may, themselves, be present at the launch. I’ve joked about charging for autographs but, realistically, I’ll be incredibly flattered if anyone asked for me to sign their copy. After all, who but my mother and father even know who this Adam Snider character is?

I hope to see a few of you there tomorrow night. It should be a fun time, hobnobbing with Alberta authors, both professional and amateur, and pretending to be a person of importance now that my work is in the public realm.

    Thanks Toby,

After your comment, I went and read your essay. I liked it. Something about the your voice really caught me. Plus, the subtle jab at Lonely Planet and other backpacker reading material was golden.
