Bad Luck Weekend

I’ve had a bit of bad luck this weekend.

On Friday, I managed to lose my debit card. On it’s own, this isn’t a big deal. I’m not too worried about identity theft or anything. Without having my PIN, I don’t think there is much that someone can do with my debit card.

If it were a credit card, I’d be worried, but it’s not, so…I’m not.

Of course, because the bank isn’t open on the weekend, I can’t replace the card until Monday.

This was not a problem last night, since I didn’t lose the card until I had finished paying for things that needed paying for. Tonight, though it became a bit of a problem. I was originally planning to go out tonight but, having only $10 in cash in my pocket, that plan fell apart pretty quickly.

Tomorrow, I’m going for brunch. I can use my credit card, I suppose, but I hate paying for things with credit. Credit is my enemy. I have debts that I’m trying to eliminate, not increase!

I also have to pick up a couple of things for dinner tomorrow night, since I’m having my family over. Again, I’ll probably have to use my credit card. This does not make me happy.

But, I suppose I’ll get this all cleared up on Monday, and it’ll be all good from that point. In the meantime, though, it kind of sucks.

Unlucky man. Don’t feel bad about using your credit card, it’s an emergency!

Oh god, don’t get into that frame of mind :(

Yeah, I suppose it is an emergency, to a certain degree.

Like I said, though, it’s not really a big deal, it just kind of sucks. I’m going to the bank after work, so I’ll get a replacement card soon.

I wonder if they’ll recommend that I get a new account number, just to be on the safe side?

Like I said, I don’t think you can really steal someone’s identity with just a debit card since, unlike a credit card, it’s fairly useless without the PIN, but the bank might recommend a new account number just to be extra cautious.

Hopefully, if that’s the case, it won’t be a some long and complicated process.
