“Bad” Posture May be Good for You

Recliners rejoice! Your bad posture may actually be good for you. The CBC reports that a new study, by Waseem Bashir at the University of Alberta, finds that the common idea of good posture–sitting up straight–may actually cause back pain, rather than prevent it. Bashir’s study suggests that a more relaxed pose–sitting at a 135 degree angle instead of 90 degrees–may be a better sitting position for most people. Like most studies the media latches onto, this should probably be taken with a grain of salt.

I personally prefer to recline while typing, so this is a study that confirms, yet again, that everything I say is true and right.

I’m probably more of a sloucher than a recliner. Some self-destructive rebels smoke and do drugs. I slouch. Let the health-nuts recline all they want. I’m an outside-the-box sloucher. Stupid hippies and they’re fancy reclining!
