Becoming a Home Owner?

I’ve been watching the condos that are being built near my apartment. I remember seeing a sign several months ago that seemed to indicate that they were surprisingly inexpensive considering the location, and the general market conditions in the city right now. One of these units may, in fact, be in my price range, as long as the condo fees aren’t outrageous.

At the prodding of my mother, I finally went and found out who the developer is. After looking around their website a bit, I really want to buy one of those units. Based on the look of their other projects, this building will be very nice. Plus, I love the neighbourhood, I think it will be in my price range, and I will actually own property. I’m actually very excited about this.

I’ll have to arrange to meet the Realtor who is working with the developer to find out the details soon. More than have half of the units have been pre-sold, and the rest will probably go very quickly once they are put on the market. Man…wouldn’t it be cool if I managed to buy my own place?

    @Chris: Fixed.

    @Rose: I’m not sure, but I recall seeing a sign on the site several months ago that said they were starting in the low $150,000s, which is pretty much impossible to find in this city.

    Now, it’s possible that all of the cheaper units sold during the pre-sale, and the remaining ones are all very expensive. I don’t know. I’d have to call the Realtor, which I haven’t done yet.
