There’s a lot going on in the city of Edmonton right now. There are big things on the horizon and some not-so-big things happening right now. To help you find out about these things, both big and small, I thought I’d point you toward some of Edmonton’s more prolific writers and the Edmonton-related news that they’ve been reporting.
- Mack D. Male’s got some good information about the Jasper Avenue New Vision project.
- Scott McKeen at the Journal wrote a good critique of the City’s growth plans last week. Despite all the talk about in-fill projects and making a greener, more efficient city, it seems that more urban sprawl is the real order of the day. Councillor Don Iveson wrote a response on his blog.
- The fine folks at the edmontonian have pointed out that the Old Strathcona Business Association has put out a call for artists.
- Sharon Yeo from Only Here for the Food provides a nice look at the newly renovated and “reopened” Kingsway Mall.
- And, finally, The Unknown Studio is quickly becoming Edmonton’s most interesting podcast. This week, Scott and Adam talk to the founders of the edmontonian—Jeff Samsonow and Sally Poulsen—about the role of hyper-local websites in the local media.
