Thanks for your comment, Mara. I suppose that those Americans who are opposed to gay marriage could look to any country that has legalized it as an example of what does (or doesn’t) happen as a result. But, as a Canadian, I can really only write from a Canadian perspective.

They could also look to the Netherlands as proof of that, but since (apparently) most Americans seem to think we are all criminal drug-users/dealers and freaks (I’m none of those)…
Mind you, I don’t think our society has collapsed either and if people want to be happy, who would I be to tell them no?

Nor has society crumbled in any of the states in the U.S. that permit same-sex marriage. Still, people will fight it until their dying breath. What a sad waste of energy.
