Incomplete Thoughts

I’ve been writing a lot of blog posts lately. I just haven’t been posting many of them.

Why? Because haven’t been completing many of them.

I’ve been coming up with a lot of ideas, but they all seem to be incomplete. I’ll get halfway through a post (or more) and then realize that I don’t know how to finish it. I’ll realize that it isn’t a complete thought.

Sometimes, blogging incomplete thoughts can be a boon. It gives me an excuse to put a question to my readers which, in turn, gives you a good reason to leave a comment or two. We engage in a discussion and we’re both the better for it (I like think so, anyway).

But, the posts I’ve been working on aren’t really the sort that lend themselves to ending with a question like, “What do you think?”

As a result, I have a fair number of incomplete posts in my drafts folder. They sit, looking all sad, waiting to be finished. Sadly, many of them will never get the chance to exit the limbo that is the drafts folder.

Sadly, many of them will never grow beyond half-formed, incomplete thoughts.

you could always try the “bulleted list of incomplete ideas” (pat. pending)

sometimes incomplete thoughts don’t look so incomplete when broken down into a simple one or two sentence idea

That’s pretty much what a lot of my “random thoughts” posts are. I haven’t done too many of those since I “relaunched” the blog, but I used to do that fairly often in the past. Maybe I should start again.
