Link Round-up: 12/01/2009
I read a lot online. I follow blogs. I follow media websites. People send me cool links by email and/or Twitter.
While I don’t always have enough to say to write a full post about each link, I do sometimes like to share the most interesting ones. Here are a few stories that I’ve found interesting of late:
- My friend Rosemary sent me a story about how the British secret service used special copies of Monopoly to help soldiers and spies escape from POW camps and other dangerous situations.
- Gregg Beever wrote a great article about nuclear power for the edmontonian. I might become a pariah among my Unitarian friends for saying this, but, I completely agree with Gregg. Nuclear power may not be ideal, but it seems like a cleaner option than the continued burning of fossil fuels.
- Sharon has put together a great local gift giving guide for Shop Local First Month (which was last month, but there’s no reason that we can’t continue shopping local all year-round). I’ll definitely be using at least a couple of Sharon’s suggestions when I’m buying Christmas gifts this year.
- Adam and Scott over at The Unknown Studio have put together a hilarious “advice column for d-bags” wherein they mock various FML submissions. Check it out if you like to laugh.

Cool comment from the MOnopoly story:

Washing the map destroyed the evidence. I have a dresser scarf made from one of the maps. My late brother brought it home after the war.
That is cool. I hadn’t bothered to read the comments, so I didn’t see that.
