Hello, and welcome to my updated blog. As you can see, I’m off to a fresh start. The old database is gone (though, hopefully, not lost). I may change my mind a decide to reinstate the old database in the future but, for now, I’m starting from scratch.
All of the old posts are gone. In essence, I’m starting a brand new blog on the same old domain. This will likely affect my Google ranking a bit, at least initially, but most of the links to this site are links to the home page, anyway, so things shouldn’t be changed drastically. I can always throw up some 401 redirects if I’m feeling like doing some SEO work.
As in the past, this blog will be more-or-less without a central theme. If I feel like sharing my thoughts on a particular topic, I’ll do so here. While AdamSnider.com as a whole is at least partially devoted to helping me find new clients to write for, the blog will continue to be a personal blog.
Who is this blog for?
The short answer to this question is that this blog is for anyone who finds it interesting. The longer answer is that there are two main groups of people who I hope will read this blog.
Clients and Potential Clients: I suspect that clients and potential clients will read this blog. While that might make some contractors nervous, I welcome clients as readers.
What will they get out of it?
In addition to acting as a way for potential clients to see a wide range of my writing, clients and potential clients will be able to get a bit of insight into who they’re hiring to write for them.
As many of my clients won’t ever meet me in person, this blog will help them understand who they are working with. After all, it’s always better to do business with someone you know a little bit about than to work with a complete stranger.
Friends and Family: As this is a personal blog, much of what I write will be intended to keep friends and family up to speed on what’s going on in my life.
What will they get out of this blog?
That’s a good question. I guess they get the satisfaction of occasionally seeing their name in print. And also of being able to keep tabs on me without having to actually hang out. (I kid, I kid.)
That’s pretty much it. Here’s to fresh starts and “new” blogs. If you keep reading, I’ll keep writing.
