Condo Viewing #4

I went a viewed more condos this evening. They were in the same building as the one I mentioned after my second viewing. They all had the exact same floor plan, but they were in different parts of the building, and in different condition. None of the ones I saw this time were renovated, but they didn’t look too bad at all.
Really, I think I would be more likely to buy one of the un-renovated units than the one that’s already been renovated. The price is about $20,000 less, and it would not take that much money to do that same work to the un-renovated units. However, I’m not nearly as certain that I would want to buy one of these units, anymore.
The ones that I viewed today are currently occupied, so I was able to see them with furniture in them. After seeing the place filled with furniture, I realized how truly small it is. Not having an eat-in kitchen makes a huge difference. Sure, the balconies are very large, but when my relatively small kitchen table will take up almost half of the living space, well, that’s a bit of a problem, especially if I ever intent to have guests over. On top of that, it might not be practical to have a coffee table.
Admittedly, my furniture smaller than the over-sized couches that were occupying the unit in question, but not significantly.
On the plus side, all 3 of the units I saw today have an underground parking stall included in the title, which I have since found out that the renovated unit does not (so I’d have to rent a stall).
The underground parking, the large balconies, and the location all make me want to buy on of these units. However, the size issue is pretty huge (no pun intended). Because of this, I’m now leaning even more strongly toward the unit on 118 Avenue.
I’m still going to look at a few other units, but I think the one on 118th might be the one. I just need to either magically find a 5% down payment, or find a co-signor so I can get approved for a zero-down mortgage. Any takers?
