I am Time Magazine’s “Person of the Year” (And you are too!)

Every year, Time picks someone to be “Person of the Year.” Normally, this person would be someone famous–a politician, celebrity, or religious leader. This year, however, the honour has been given to me. And you. And probably most of the people you know. According to a preview of the December 25, 2006 issue, Time’s Person of the Year for 2006 is, essentially, anyone who uses the internet on a regular basis.

If you make mash-ups, or movies (to post on YouTube, for example), or if you have a blog, you are Time Magazine’s person of the year. As long as you are involved in the collaborative spirit of Web 2.0 (I hate the term, by the way), then you are the person of the year. Congratulations to us all!
