Office Fever: Like Cabin Fever, but Without the Cabin

I’ve been feeling like I need to get out of the office a lot, lately. I keep finding excuses to leave the office during my coffee breaks. Sure, there is free coffee, tea, and even snack food at the office, but I find myself going to Tim’s, or the convenience store, just to get out of the building for a few minutes.
It’s not that I need to escape the job, so much. It’s just that I hate being cooped up in an office all day long. I mean, I don’t even have a window, in my office. Spending 8 hours without exposure to natural light…it does terrible things to a man.
I wonder if there is a way that I can work off-site for part of my day, so that I can get out of the office. It would be nice to have natural light hit my skin once in a while, and a change of scenery can be good for getting the creative juices flowing, which is helpful when I’m trying to write copy.
Of course, that would require a laptop, which I don’t think is going to happen, unless I supply my own. While there isn’t necessarily a reason that I need to be on-site in order to do my job, I don’t think that the company would be willing to supply me with a laptop just so that I can work out of a coffee shop on occasion.
Ah well, I suppose I can live with just going for a short walk when I’m on break in order to break up the monotony of sitting in an office all day long.

you could always look into telecommuting
That’s true, and I’ve actually considered it. I’m not sure they trust me enough to let me telecommute, yet. I’ll have to “prove my worth” a bit longer, before I seriously think about suggesting the idea to the boss.
