Raving Poets Rapture

The Raving Poets ride again on Wednesday. The new series is called “Rapture,” and it’s set to be the longest running series in a while. I don’t know if it’s the longest run ever, but it’s definitely the longest since I’ve been involved (which, admittedly, hasn’t been all that long). There are a whole bunch of new “rules,” that should make the nights more energetic, better paced, and more fun. Check out the Raving Poets website for more details about the new format.
In related news, check out the Raving Poets Podcast. I think I’ve plugged the podcast in the past, but I’m doing it again for the purpose of shameless self-promotion. I was featured on last week’s episode, reading “The Devil Drives a Grey Toyota.” It’s referred to as “The Devil Drives a Blue Toyota” on the podcast, which is fine by me. The colour of the car is really inconsequential to the meaning of the poem, so I’m not going to quibble over the title.

Just listened to the podcast. Awesome job, man. I like that piece.
RE: RP Rapture. Definitely not the longest run ever. I believe it was 2004 when we went from March to December at the Backroom. Never again. The band almost broke up after that.
