Simple Things That Make the Day

There’s an old axiom: “It’s the simple things in life that make us happy.” There are variations of the phrase, but they’re all saying the same thing. It’s the simple things that matter most. The things that ultimately matter most, and give meaning to our lives are often the simplest. Similarly, I think it’s the simple things that help each of us to get through the day. I can really appreciate your list. I think that we don’t always appreciate the things in our lives to their full extents.

It’s the strangest thing that I stumbled upon your website (from the “live at the Kasbar” link). I couldn’t sleep so I was looking thru my favorite little notebook and stopped on my list of things that make me smile. Poetry is one of them, so obviously, I put the book down to check out ‘raving poets’ and then ended up here. Your list is fabulous and I’ve stolen your cup of coffee line for the “happy” page in my little notebook. I do love my morning coffee. - Jen
