Darkness, Light, Darkness: A truly bizarre short film. It’s stop motion, which I’ve always found very cool. The patience of the animators amazes me. Warning, contains clay figure nudity (potentially NSFW).

How Much Do I Need to Save for Retirement: How much do you need to save for retirement? Not as much as you think, according to Life Learning Today.

5 Reasons Not to Drink Bottled Water: Not only is bottled water no more healthy for you than tap water, it contributes to our ever increasing waste management problems. Hundreds of thousands of plastic bottles are created and thrown away every year because people drink bottled water. I should know, hundreds of them used to come from my apartment. (For the record, I was not the one consuming most of the bottled water, though I did drink it while it was in my house.)

Readymech Series 002: “Readymechs are free, flatpack toys for you to print and build. They are designed to fit on an 8.5″x11″ page and printed with any printer. You’ll need double-sided tape, thick matte paper, and 10-15 minutes for build time.”

39 Ways to Live, and Not Merely Exist: Leo Babauta from Zen Habits is one of my favourite bloggers, and he seems to have been writing guest posts all over the place last week. He left this gem over at Dumb Little Man. Some of the points he makes are kind of cheesy (kiss in the rain!), and I strongly disagree with others (stop watching the news). For the most part, though, it’s a solid list.

10 Ways to Make Laziness Work for You: Leo also made a post on Freelance Switch this past week, about how to turn your laziness into an advantage. My favourite quote from the piece: “Lazy people like to become managers, so they can delegate things to others and look productive while doing that.”
