Tomorrow is a big day. In addition to being the day that Brendan McLeod and the Fugitives play the Kasbar, it’s also Pi Day. Math geeks rejoice! Pi Day is the day when lovers of math, and specifically of the number pi, tell the world why pi is so awesome. Some of these crazy folks will even hand out pies. (No, really, they will.) The poets have Robbie Burns Day and Leonard Cohen Day, the mathematicians have Pi Day.
In case you haven’t figured it out, tomorrow is Pi Day because it’s 3/14 (or, more appropriately 3.14, if that’s how you choose to indicate dates).
Tomorrow night should be a blast, Brendan McLeod is always a killer performer, and so the Fugitives are bound to be good. And, with a bit of luck, maybe someone will rock a poem about pi (I’m looking at you, Patrick Pilarski). I’d do it myself but, frankly, I’m not that interested in–nor that knowledgeable about–pi. I can get as far as 3.14159… and that’s it. I might eat a piece of pie, though.
