Wanting What I Can’t have

I’ve been craving meat all week. It’s weird, because it’s actually fairly common for me to only eat meat two or three times a week—once on Thursdays when the company buys lunch for the whole office and once on Sundays when I’m at my parents’ house for dinner are the 2 guaranteed times—so the fact that I haven’t eaten any meat (other than fish) this week isn’t particularly uncommon. But, because I’ve basically forbidden myself from eating meat at home, I find myself wanting it. We want the things we can’t have, I guess.

Why forbid yourself from eating it at home? I’ve just had a great meal which included BBQ Chicken ;)

Whoops! Switched servers last night, so the comments must have been made just after the database was backed up. Anyway, I’ve reposted your comment Glen, and thanks for commenting.

As for why I’m forbidding myself from eating meat at home, it’s mainly because I’d rather be stuck eating a salad at home than when I’m out at a restaurant with friends.

Having said that, I’m already sick of this “no meat at home” thing, and it hasn’t even been 2 weeks yet!

I think I’ll likely start eating meat again, but in smaller portions than I used to, because this really is starting to get unbearable. :(

Still, I think I want to try and keep it up for at least a month, just to see if I notice any major improvement (or decline) in my health as a result of eating less meat.

It took me about 3 months to notice the change in my energy levels from cutting back on regular meat consumption.

    Good luck.
