What Do You Want to Accomplish Before You Die?

I’m working on a list of things I want to do before I die. The last time I wrote one of these lists, I was in Grade 10. I wish I still had that list, so I’d be able to cross off all of the things that I’ve already done, and compare it to the list I’m currently working on.
Travel will feature prominently on my new list, as will family. When I’ve completed the list (I’m aiming for a list of 50 things to do before I die), I will post it on this blog. I will try and remember to post updated versions of the list, as I cross off the things that are on it.
In the meantime, I’m curious to know what my readers want to accomplish before they die. Ideally, I’d like to see you write your own list of 50 things, and post it to your own blog. If you don’t have a blog, feel free to leave the list in the comments of this post. Even if you do have a blog, feel free to leave a comment with your top 10 things.
Perhaps some of you will inspire me to set new goals for my life. Even if I don’t decide to do any of the things that you list, I’m still interested in seeing what my friends and associates are interested in doing with their lives. So, post away, and I’ll try to have my list up by week’s end.

I used to keep lists like that when I was younger, but I’ve stopped. Its not that I did everything on the list, but maybe I just gave up.
Check out http://www.43things.com/
I have an account there but I can’t remember what my user name is at the moment… I have ‘learn to fly a helicopter’ on there though
Thanks for that, Andrew. I forgot about 43things. I have an account there as well. I haven’t used it in ages. Maybe I’ll use that.
I think I’d agonize about doing this as I don’t know how young I’ll die….
The tragedy isn’t dying young, it’s living to a ripe old age, and realizing that you haven’t truly lived.
omg im doing this in my planning class in grade 10 too soo far ive got 42 8 more to goooo
Hi, Adam,
I’ve thought about doing a list like that but never actually did. However, if you’re interested in this kind of thing, check out the 1001 Things in 101 Days project (http://triplux.stilljournal.com/1001/). I run a version of this project in Portuguese (at http://www.patriciamuller.com/101). The idea is to make a list of 1001 things you want to do in the next 1001 days and then post follow ups about each item accomplished. The feedback I usually receive from the majority of participants is that they get great results! I’ve had them personally too. Somehow, writing a list seems to push us into taking action more effectively/pro-actively for some reason. Making it public works even better.
Good luck with your list and your dreams.
Cheers,
Patricia.
oops… “…make a list of 101 things you want to do in the next 1001 days.”
