Writer’s Block is Gone

I’ve been suffering from a terrible bout of writer’s block for the past few months. I’d previously claimed that I had it beat, but that turned out to be wishful thinking on my part. This time, though, it’s really over. I have the beginnings of a poem down on paper. Today was a day of surprising inspiration and motivation.
Somehow, between the time that I left work, and the time that I got home, I managed to squeeze in a first date, a Roar planning meeting, and a broken fire hydrant. Okay, so maybe the fire hydrant was something I happened to drive past on the way home from Thomas’s house, but it was an inspiration nonetheless.
Of course this action packed schedule meant that my dinner consisted of little more than coffee and beer–and a handful of overly salty potato chips when I finally got home. Nevertheless, I’ve got some good writing down, and I’m feeling like I’m on the start of what will be a good run of writing this summer. Here’s to unexpected inspiration!

I would love to read your poetry. I too have been suffering from a bit of writer’s block.
